Armenian Community Opens History Museum in Addis Ababa

The Armenian Cultural Center in Addis Ababa opened the History Museum of the Ethiopian-Armenian community. The newly opened museum showcases rare archival records, historical photographs, and artifacts dedicated to preserving the shared heritage of the two nations.
According to Capital News, the Armenian Cultural Center in Addis Ababa officially inaugurated the History Museum of the Ethiopian-Armenian Community on June 20, marking a significant step in preserving the shared heritage between Ethiopia and Armenia.
The opening, co-organized by the Embassy of Armenia in Ethiopia and the Executive Council of the Armenian Community of Ethiopia, was accompanied by a diaspora dialogue attended by Armenia's High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan.
Speaking at the event, Armenian Ambassador to Ethiopia Sahak Sargsyan described the museum as an important milestone in preserving and promoting the longstanding historical ties between the two countries. Sinanyan also highlighted the Armenian community's enduring contributions to Ethiopia despite its relatively small size.
Capital News reported that the museum was largely made possible through the efforts of community activist, author, and curator Vartkes Nalbandian, who spent years collecting historical documents, photographs, and artifacts for the exhibition.
